Francis joined Troy in June 2004 and launched the Trojan Income Fund later that year. He was appointed manager of Troy Income & Growth Trust in July 2009. In December 2021 Francis relinquished his fund management responsibilities and took up a new position of Vice Chairman. In March 2025, he was appointed Chairman of Troy. Francis began his career in 1986 having gained his MA in Politics from Edinburgh University. Francis has been Chairman of Ascot Racecourse since 2018.
